A website for Troy Shu's generative art.
The oil painting classes at age 7 (thanks Mom) and the programming textbook at age 12 (thanks Dad) have evolved into my passion for combining code and art into "generative art", art generated by an algorithmic system that makes artistic decisions on its own.
Through my art, I try to convey ideas that help us understand reality as it is.
Blockchain and web technologies have enabled these algorithmic systems to generate unique, one-of-a-kind, paintings for each patron of my art that live on a decentralized network forever, all autonomously and accessible through an easy-to-use website. Please reach out if you have any questions or comments.
Neuronal depicts neural networks and their simple but powerful nature. Every mint uses the transactional data of that action to create a unique, one-of-a-kind iteration of the artwork. Both the artwork and its own generation process symbolize how our entire reality—all our thoughts and perceptions—arises from inputs and outputs flowing through neural networks.
The Processing Foundation promotes software and visual literacy by developing and distributing software projects that make it easy to code art, games, and other creative works.
In fact, I created this art piece using p5js, an open-source Javascript package that is supported by the Processing Foundation.
In periodic intervals, I'll donate 50% of the proceeds from this art piece to the Processing Foundation, with verfication posted here.
Here's what patrons of this art piece get:
